It can be printed out as a poster and used, for example, during an Innovation Boot Camp to develop a business idea. ; A BMC is a practical, visual tool that provides a clear representation of a business model on a single page. It consists of building blocks arranged in a structured grid. These blocks cover the most important areas of a business and allow for short, note-like entries that provide a clear and simple overview. The building blocks are: Key partners - Which partners and suppliers are required to implement the business model? Key activities - What key activities does the company need to carry out in order to be successful? Value propositions - What products or services are offered to fulfil customer needs? Customer relationships - How does the company build and maintain relationships with its customers Customer segments - Who are the target groups that the company serves? Key resources - What key resources are required to implement the business model? Sales channels - Which communication and sales channels does the company use to reach its customers? Cost structure - What costs are associated with the implementation of the business model? Revenue - How does the company earn money? Team – Who are the key people or team members involved in making the business successful, and what are their roles and responsibilities? Company Value – What values and mission does the company stand for? How do these values influence its business decisions and its overall identity? The BMC promotes a holistic understanding of the entire business model, as all blocks are presented equally and their relationships to each other are clearly recognisable.
