نبذة مختصرة : This article presents the main findings of an investigation that addresses the implementation of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in courses offered by the Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Costa Rica from the student's perspective. The methodology used is based on a quantitative approach of the descriptive type. Variables such as ICTs, students' perception of their usage, and academic performance are explained. Based on these developments, two data collection instruments were constructed, which were endowed with validity and reliability. Once calibrated, the instruments were applied at two points in time to a conveniently chosen sample. The information analysis was conducted using statistical methods, revealing as main results positive beliefs regarding the use of ICTs along with high student approval rates, highlighting a notable performance by repeating students. One of the conclusions drawn was that students utilize ICTs to expedite and verify results in understanding concepts and resolving exercises during their study processes.
