نبذة مختصرة : This systematization seeks to recover the experience called "growing and harvesting rainwater" performed by the Tierra Nueva group of women Guantugloma community in the Parroquia La Merced. The aim of the project was to obtain water for crop irrigation during 2009 - 2013, a period favorable for the development of this project conditions due to emerging new political cycle in Ecuador. The project of growing and harvesting rainwater was born through organization and participation of women of the community, from the need to provide this resource for irrigation of their crops. In this sense, this systematization takes the gender approach to dimension the difficulties faced by women by not having access to water source. This experience is an example of sustainable local development, since this experience is evidence that allowed women of the organization to improve their living conditions, generate their own income and to improve the participation in the community. From the cultivation of rainwater agricultural production it was expanded in the community, which allowed improve the nutrition of their families, change your eating patterns, improve your health, reduce common diseases, improving their quality of life and strengthening their food sovereignty ensure local development. Finally, from the systematization of this experience it states that one of the main achievements was the construction of collective identities to achieve common objectives, which take into account the interrelationships between people, natural resources, and the environment to achieve the good life ; Esta sistematización pretende recuperar la experiencia denominada “cultivo y cosecha de agua lluvia” ejecutada por el grupo de mujeres Tierra Nueva de la comunidad de Guantugloma, en la parroquia de la Merced.
