نبذة مختصرة : Introduction: In swimming, the athlete's technique encounters resistance, depending on the characteristics of the liquid environment, anthropometric, physiological characteristics and the speed of the swim. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the influence of anthropometric, biomechanical and ventilatory variables on the Critical Speed of swimming athletes. And, specific objectives, evaluate the influence of age, weight, height, Body Mass Index, wingspan, number of strokes, frequency of strokes, training time, handgrip strength, lung function and respiratory pressures on Critical Speed. Methodology: A cross-sectional, exploratory and quantitative study was carried out. Six athletes participated, including athletes of both sexes, aged 16 years or over, belonging to Tubaronense Swimming Athletics. Results: The handgrip strength showed a strong positive correlation with the Critical Speed. The number of strokes and the wingspan showed a significant correlation with the speed of 50 meters. The number of strokes and the wingspan were significantly correlated with the speed of 100 meters. At 200 meters, none of the analyzed variables showed a significant correlation. Conclusion: It is concluded that there is an influence of the variable handgrip strength on Critical Speed. And the number of strokes and wingspan at 50 meters and 100 meters. Lung function and respiratory pressure were not associated with speeds of 50m, 100m, 200m and with critical speed in this group of athletes.
