The calligram in school textbooks: object of study or teaching tool? ; Le calligramme dans les manuels scolaires : objet d’étude ou outil didactique ?

International audience ; We analyze from a didactical point of view the treatment of the calligram by 34 French textbooks from CP to Première of the last twenty years, with a focus on the latest reform of 2016. We describe the key stages of the didactic transposition of the calligram, from the fundamental learning of reading and writing to the preliminary baccalaureate examination in French. We show how the school not only constructs but also blurs the recognition and practice of the genre, associating it with the learning of writing, literary reading, literary history and history of the arts. ; Nous faisons l’analyse didactique du traitement du calligramme dans 34 manuels de français du CP à la 1ère des vingt dernières années, avec un focus sur la dernière réforme de 2016. Nous retraçons les principales étapes de la transposition didactique du calligramme, depuis les apprentissages fondamentaux de la lecture et de l’écriture jusqu’à l’épreuve anticipée de français du baccalauréat. Nous montrons comment l’école construit mais aussi brouille la reconnaissance et la pratique du genre, en l’associant aux apprentissages de l’écrit, de la lecture littéraire, de l’histoire de la littérature et de l’histoire des arts.
