HEALTH AND ECOLOGICAL NARCOTICS: AGROCHEMICALS AS A THREAT TO FOOD SAFETY AND THE ENVIRONMENT ; SAÚDE E NARCÓTICOS ECOLÓGICOS: AGROTÓXICOS COMO AMEAÇA À SEGURANÇA ALIMENTAR E AO MEIO AMBIENTE

This research deals with the topic of food safety and the use of agrochemicals in Brazil. The adoption of the expression Ecological Narcotics comes from a critical analysis made by the Indian author Vandana Shiva. The approach is justified because it is a theme that has provoked fervent discussions around the world and also contributes to open the door to a sensitive and complex discussion in the scope of Law, specifically in Environmental Law and the Right to Health, as well as contributing critical and reflexively to the society in general. The goal is to clarify the fundamental issues that surround the subject, as well as to critically analyze the scientific statements supported by large corporations such as Monsanto. The methodology used in this article follows the hypothetical-deductive method and consists mainly of bibliographic analysis through books, newspapers, articles, national and international laws, as well as the use of all types of materials and instruments available on the Internet. It was possible to demonstrate the growing concern regarding human and environmental health regarding the massive use of agrochemicals in Brazil, discussing the withdrawal of the labeling of transgenic products, the PL of the poison and the lack of democratic dialogue in the political decisions on pesticides. It was concluded that there are more efficient and sustainable methods, but their adoption depends on political will, something that is lacking in a democratic country such as Brazil. ; A presente investigação trata do tema da segurança alimentar e da utilização de agrotóxicos no Brasil.
