نبذة مختصرة : Understanding one’s own history and mastering one’s culture are essential endeavors for shaping individuals, as well as a society. Those knowledges arouse feelings of identity and belonging, enable the creation of memories, assist in critical sense and in the ability to interpret, provide a better comprehension of the present and makes historical consciousness feasible. Despite these facts, the History of the state is poorly studied in schools and the local culture is devalued. Thus, the proposal of an exhibition and cultural space arise to mitigate those deficiencies and promote the society engagement with their own cultural elements. The multisensory architecture accrue from the necessity to explore the user’s senses as a method of creating an immersive experience, intensifying the assimilation and the identification with the exposed content, with a playful form of education. Therefore, the present work commits to develop an architectural proposal of a Potiguar Historical and Cultural Museum, from the perspective of multisensory architecture. With this purpose in mind, the aim was to understand the specific details of a Historical and Cultural Museum project and comprehend the principles of multisensory architecture and to apply these principles in a cultural space, in order to create an immersive museum experience. The result of the efforts culminates in a proposal for a museum located in the Praia do Meio district in Natal RN, whose needs program supports cultural and educational activities. ; Conhecer a sua própria história e dominar sua cultura são atos essenciais para a formação dos indivíduos, assim como da sociedade como um todo.
