نبذة مختصرة : This paper explores the leadership of African Women at the grassroots and international levels. With a focus on the work of Katherine Wing and Erika George, I argue that women-led policy reform, innovation, and grassroots organization is a vital pathway towards greater social, political, and economic equity. I continue by exploring how leadership by African Women is not a new or counter-cultural phenomenon but rather part of a long tradition of advocacy and self-determination on the continent. The Women's Protocol and the Green Belt Movement highlight the existence of this tradition.
