نبذة مختصرة : This work highlights the relationship between children and cartoons, having as reference “O show da Luna'', a Brazilian animated series created in 2014, analyzing the episodes of the first season. The objective is to understand the importance of cartoons as an instrument that can be used in the development of activities in the preschool and school environment, aiming at the cognitive, playful and social development of the child. Highlighting the relationship between children and cartoons is a topic of great relevance for Education, as there is a historical relationship between children and cartoons, mainly presented on television, and it is essential to discuss and analyze the contributions of cartoons to child development. The use of cartoons, both in the family and in the school environment, stimulates the child's creativity and imagination, which can touch on various learning nodes, contributing to child development. For the development of this research content analysis, observations were made of the episodes of the first season of “O show da Luna” and readings of works by different authors dealing with this theme, such as: Ávila, Quadrado and Barros (2014), Buckingham (2011 apud SOUZA 2013), Brescia (2003), Carmona (2002), Nogueira (2003), Oliveira (2019), Oliveira and Magalhães (2017), Rodrigues (2016), among others. This theme is considered to be of fundamental importance for the training of early childhood education teachers, making it possible to contribute to the child's learning and development process in the school environment, as well as in the family space. ; Este trabalho destaca a relação entre criança e o desenho animado, tendo como referência “O show da Luna'', uma série de animação brasileira criada em 2014, sendo analisados os episódios da primeira temporada.
