Kültür Endüstrisi ve İdeoloji: Hollywood ve Steven Spielberg Sineması Örneği ; Culture Industry and Ideology: Hollywood and the Case Of Steven Spielberg’s Cinema

Modernlik, kültür ve ideoloji gibi kimi kavramlar, sosyal bilimlerin ve modern düsünce ve pratigin büyük bir alanının odak noktasında yer almaktadır. Modernligin gelisimine kosut olarak kültürün kapitalist üretim tarzı içinde alınıp satılan metaya dönüsmesi, bunun sonucunda kültürün bir endüstri kolunu olusması ve bu kültürel yapının içinde sinemanın islevi oldukça önemlidir. Kültür endüstrisi içinde sinemanın ideolojik islevlinin en açık biçimde görüldügü ülke Amerika’dır. Amerikan Sineması denildiginde akla ilk gelen isim Hollywood’dur. Amerikan Sineması’nın en önemli yönetmenlerinden Steven Spielberg’in filmleri baglamında Kültür Endüstrisi ideoloji iliskisi ele alınmıs ve Spielberg’in varolan sistemi devam ettirme noktasında bir ideolog olarak degerlendirilmistir ; The concepts such as modernity, culture and ideology, take place at the focus of a big area of the social sciences and modern thought and practice. Within the capitalist mode of production, the transformation of culture into commodity, the formation of an industrial branch of culture and the function of cinema within this cultural structure are considerably important. The ideological function of cinema within culture industry can be seen most explicitly in America. Hollywood can be taken as the heart of American cinema. In this thesis, we consider the relation between culture industry and ideology in the context of the films of Steven Spielberg who is one of the most popular directors of American cinema and Spielberg is taken into consideration as an ideologist who tries to maintain the present cultural and ideological system.
