The purpose of this article is to analyze the current nursing situation from a hermeneutical approach in Modernity and Postmodernity, taking Lyotard´s thought as the theoretical frame of ork. The article discusses the different positions that Nursing has encountered based on the emancipated and speculative models in the context of Modernity, and by the beginning of the 21st century by the Postmodern one. Both contexts are thought by the idea of governmental metanarrative, or emancipator postmodernity. ; El propósito de este artículo es realizar un análisis hermeneútico de la situación de Enfermería en el modernismo y postmodernismo, tomando como referente a Lyotard. Se discute la posición de Enfermería en los modelos emancipatorios y especulativos del modernismo, aproximándose en el siglo XXI al postmodernismo, pero siempre desde un metarrelato de autogobierno, que podría ser llamado, postmodernismo emancipatorio. ; O propósito deste artigo é realizar uma análise hermenêutica da situação da Enfermagem na modernidade e pós-modernidade, tendo como referência Lyotard.A posição da Enfermagem é discutida nos modelos emancipatório e especulativo da modernidade –próximos, no século XXI, do pós-modernismo–, mas sempre desde uma metanarrativa de autogoverno que poderia ser chamada pós-modernidadeemancipatória.
