      The present work starts from the academic monitoring experience lived in the Language and Literature curricular component of the undergraduate degree in Pedagogy linked to the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB). With this, the objective is to verify the effects of that component in the formation of undergraduates and undergraduates in Pedagogy at the Education Center (CE/UFPB). Therefore, we carried out a qualitative research with eight students who took the component, using an online questionnaire as an instrument. Furthermore, we rely on the theoretical assumptions of Aguiar (2001); Bordini and Aguiar (1988); Candido (1995); Freire (1996); Reyes (2012); Saldanha and Amarilha (2018), among others. Thus, the results obtained revealed that the development of the component from March to July 2021 guaranteed the presence of a literary education in the initial training of students, as it added theoretical and methodological repertoire that will serve as a basis for teaching activities in Early Childhood Education and years initials of Elementary School. ; El presente trabajo parte de la experiencia de seguimiento académico vivida en el componente curricular de Lengua y Literatura de la licenciatura en Pedagogía vinculada a la Universidad Federal de Paraíba (UFPB). Con esto, el objetivo es verificar los efectos de ese componente en la formación de pregrado y pregrado en Pedagogía del Centro de Educación (CE/UFPB). Por ello, realizamos una investigación cualitativa con ocho estudiantes que cursaron el componente, utilizando como instrumento un cuestionario online. Además, nos apoyamos en los supuestos teóricos de Aguiar (2001); Bordini y Aguiar (1988); Candido (1995); Freire (1996); Reyes (2012); Saldanha y Amarilha (2018), entre otros.
