نبذة مختصرة : In the last three decades the gang crime in Sweden has increased. Therefore, on first of July 2023 a new law took effect in Sweden that gives Swedish municipalities responsibility for local crime prevention work. The purpose of this study is to investigate how one big municipality, Uppsala, work with their crime prevention and how central actors explaine the implementation of the new law. The study has conducted semi-structured interviews with officials from the municipality and police officers. The study has analyzed the collected material with a thematic analysis. The theoretical framework chosen for the study is Danermark´s theory of cooperation and a theory about implementation. Based on the result of the study, the respondents where united that the implementation of the law and the overall cooperation with important actors was succesful but there are some actors they wish better cooperation within the work with crime prevention, those are the region and psychiatry. There were also some concerns about obstacles that made their work with fighting against gang crime difficult, those are the law of secrecy and the values in society. Based on the result of the study, the conclusion is that Uppsala has implemented the law well but there are still problems with gang crime so the municipality have to do more then what the law says. ; 2024-05-24
