      Sexuality, in western history, is conceived as a taboo, forbidden and/or controlled subject.Hence, endless institutional devices and discursive control strategies were constructed. Thefollowing paper has, as its aim, to analyze how school management approaches sexualeducation at public schools. Therefore, the research has phenomenology as its methodology,since it seeks the understanding of reality’s particularities through the comprehension ofsubjects in and within the world. It is characterized as field research, exploratory, with itstheoretical frame based around the sexuality categories (FOUCAULT, 1997), democraticmanagement (SANDER, 2009; LIMA, et al. 2011), and popular education (FREIRE, 1987).Nevertheless, the analysis addresses its object on a phenomenological perspective(TRIVINOS, 2013) by means of qualitative research (MINAYO, 1998). Data was collectedduring field work (PIANA, 2009), on two municipal João Pessoa’s schools; consisting ofsemi structured interviews (FRASER and GONDIM, 2004). In short, facing the general goal,theoretical and methodological framework, we investigated the hypothesis that schoolmanagement comprehends that sexual education must attain itself to avoid diseases, earlypregnancy, and sexual abuse. Data analysis suggest that administrators have a limited opinionon the problem, given the lack of working on aspects such as selfcare, self-awareness, respectto diversity, and problematization of prejudices, which compromises one’s formation to fullcitizenship. ; A temática da sexualidade, na história ocidental, é vista como tabu, como assunto proibido e/ou controlado. Diante disto se construíram inúmeros dispositivos institucionais e estratégias de controle discursivo. Este escrito tem como objetivo analisar como a gestão escolar compreende a presença da educação sexual na escola pública.
