In the mid-1980s, the city of João Pessoa underwent renovation in its staff of architects working until then. While others left the town or ended their activities, others arrived here and changed the ideas of production known until then. This final paper focuses on the single-family residential architecture produced during this decade by three architects who emerged in the local market: Régis Cavalcanti, Expedito Arruda, and Amaro Muniz. For this, we sought, first, to understand the importance and impact of the opening of Avenida Epitácio Pessoa, which led to the emergence of new neighborhoods in the capital of Paraíba, in addition to understanding the scenario and the historical, social, and economic context experienced at that time. Then, we sought to comprehend the newly arrived architects' situation in the capital and how they got inserted into the job market. Finally, we took the house as a focal object. Through research and apprehension of projects approved in this period, we systematized the information found to register and characterize the architectural production. ; Em meados da década de 1980, a cidade de João Pessoa passa por um processo de renovação dos arquitetos que nela atuavam. Enquanto alguns deixavam a cidade, ou encerravam suas atividades, outros chegavam e mudavam o quadro da produção conhecida até então. Observando esse contexto, o presente Trabalho Final de Graduação volta seu olhar para a arquitetura residencial unifamiliar produzida durante aquele decênio por três arquitetos que então despontaram no mercado local: Régis Cavalcanti, Expedito Arruda e Amaro Muniz. Para isso, busca-se, primeiramente, compreender a cidade e o processo de expansão pelo qual passava naquele momento, com especial atenção para o impacto da abertura da Avenida Epitácio Pessoa, que levou ao surgimento de novos bairros na capital paraibana.
