Violence against children ; Violência contra crianças: avaliação das características epidemiológicas no Brasil e no estado de Goiás

Objective: to analyse child violence in the Brazilian national context and in the state of Goiás, evaluating the most frequent types of violence, the most affected age groups, the environments in which they occur the most and the main perpetrators of the aggressions. Methods: this is a descriptive epidemiological study, data of which was obtained from the notifications registered in the Sistema de Informações de Agravos de Notificações database, made available by the department of informatics of the Sistema Único de Saúde. National and Goiás state data were collected referring to the year 2019 and the age group between under 1 year to 14 years. The variables used were: region of notification, sex, age group, ethnicity, places of occurrence, probable perpetrators and types of violence. Results: in Brazil, in 2019, 91,876 cases of child violence were reported, while in Goiás, 2,511 cases. Female children and those between 10 and 14 years old are the main victims of such violence. In addition, among the types of maltreatment, neglect/abandonment and physical and sexual violence stand out as the most frequent, with parents being the most likely responsible for the aggression and the home being the main place of occurrence. There is also a high number of records of repetitive violence. Conclusion: child violence is a serious public health problem and presents alarming data, both in the national scenario and in the state of Goiás, which reinforces the fragility of the victim protection and care networks. ; Objetivo: analisar a violência infantil no contexto brasileiro e no estado de Goiás, avaliando os tipos de violência mais frequentes, as faixas etárias mais afetadas, os ambientes em que mais ocorrem e os principais autores das agressões.
