(Des)conhecimento entre alunos(as) surdos(as) de duas escolas públicas do município de João Pessoa-PB sobre orientação sexual e saúde reprodutiva

Adolescence is a period marked by transformations in the psychological part of the individual. The deaf adolescent faces the everyday changes of adolescence with more ardor than the listeners, because besides living with the lack of hearing, they have to overcome the changes brought along with the period. The aim of this study was to analyze the (dis) knowledge about sexuality and reproductive health of deaf students from two public schools in the municipality of. These were selected with deafness as their criterion. The research data were collected in the second half of 2017, through questionnaires containing 66 objective and subjective questions. Comparing the information of the deaf adolescents with those of the listeners participating in the studies cited above, it is observed that deaf people start their sexual lives later, but they remain vulnerable to STDs, AIDS and unwanted pregnancies because they do not have enough knowledge to undergo a safe sexual practice. Asked about the use of condoms in the first sexual intercourse, the girls did not respond because they were virgins, among the four boys started their sex life and half of them said they had used condoms the first time. When questioned about which STDs they knew, most of the students did not respond, the others pointed to AIDS as the most known STD. Of the contraceptive methods, only a few answered and cited the pill and the condom as the best known. The spread of the condom in the campaigns of the Ministry of Health, may justify its popularity. Asked about the meaning of sexuality, they added the term to the sexual act and the pleasure resulting from this action. It is possible to conclude that it is necessary in the environment of deaf adolescents, people who are able to dialogue about sexuality in a clear and cohesive way, healing the doubts so that this phase can be lived in a safer way. ; A adolescência é um período marcado por transformações na parte psicológica do indivíduo.
