(en)Looped Needle-netting Technique "Nadelbindung" was an extensively used in the production of mittens, socks caps etc in the early middle ages. Today this technique is only known in scandinavia. The 90 year-old A. Meyer learnt this technique from his grandfather (born 1820) and demonstrates the making of a mitten using woollen yarn and looped needle-netting technique.
