Globėjų patirtys globojant vaiką šeimoje / ; Experiences of Foster- Parents Taking Care of Child in a Family.

Childcare has always been a sensitive and relevant problem in our society. A few thousand children lose their parents' custody every year in Lithuania. When parents are unable to ensure the rights of the child, the state takes over this obligation by the means of legal regulatory measures. Child’s care in a family is an important and effective form of care as foster parents do parents’ role and child’s socialization process continues to take place in a family. Preparation of foster parents is one of the main factors, which greatly influences the quality of the childcare. Foster parents’ lack of pedagogical, psychological, social skills and knowledge impacts understanding of the child’s emotional state and might give a rise to the conflict situations.
