    • نبذة مختصرة :
Due to the unique natural structure of India, the climate of India is seasonal in nature. India has three seasons namely summer, winter and monsoon. Among them, in India, it rains from June to September from southwest monsoon winds. However, due to the irregular and wavelike nature of this rain, severe drought often occurs in Maharashtra along with many other states in India. The Maharashtra government had to declare drought in 2002-03 in 11 districts of Maharashtra due to very low rainfall. 71 talukas in Solapur, Sangli, Satara, Pune, Ahmednagar, Nashik, Beed, Osmanabad, Aurangabad, Latur, Jalna districts were affected by drought. Water storage in drought-prone areas has decreased. It had an adverse effect on crop composition.
