72: North Rim, Powell Plateau, North Kaibab, Bright Angel hike 3, October 28-31, November 1, 1970

This five-day outing was another segment of George Billingsley's mapping contract with the National Park Service. George and a friend headquartered at Kanabownits Spring and drove to various overlooks to do the mapping. Both of them got into a tiff with the north rim rangers for going through the gates that had been set up to block winter access. This shift ended with a hike down the old north Kaibab Trail from near Uncle Jim Point and out via the Bright Angel Trail.
