Não recebi financiamento ; Preventive maintenance today is a reality in every industry business that invests large sums in pursuit of a decrease in old high failure rates and unplanned interventions, resulting in low machine availability. With the high demand for production in the modern day and the advance of technologies linked to the control of availability of machines, even in machines of a small sector the maintenance sector may be applied. Also, generate savings for the company that retains greater attention with other areas, not allocating resources and people to serve these small sectors. This work was applied to one of the largest aluminum rolling mills and recyclers in the world in one of its comprehensive initiatives involving sustainability, called Collection Centers. These Centers are small units in comparison to the whole extension of the company and are scattered throughout Brazil with low consumption machines, totaling about 120 kilowatts to feed all the machines and a 2.5-ton mobile equipment. A project was builded out in six stages, with the case study of the critical equipment in question, where the main objective was the restructuring of the methodology for fault resolution and detection of anomalies. A new maintenance management with operator training and preventive maintenance resources that were previously focus to corrective maintenance was made, resulting in significant results, with around 33% of average financial savings in three months and an increase in the time between failures of 37%, in addition to planning of downtime for optimal dates ; A manutenção preventiva hoje é uma realidade em todas as empresas do ramo industrial que investem grandes quantias em busca de diminuição nas antigas altas taxas de falhas e intervenções não planejadas, resultando em baixa disponibilidade das máquinas.
