Ecological literacy is an emerging hypothesis at the intersection of literacy studies and the three ecologies. Itsignifies the possibility of transformative social sciences from the crisis and the socially diverse possibility ofrealistic bifurcations of supermodern ontologies. It is both an adisciplinary, distanced descriptor and anindisciplinary, conflictual operator of transformation allowing the maintenance of habitability within theexponential perspective of the ruins already there whose other name is supermodernity. The expression captureslanguage as performative living matter controlling the possibility of an ecocene. Ecological literacy, simultaneously descriptive and operative, values conflict as an active observatory.
