The development of an Integrated Regional Planning (PRI) can be an important tool for planning and organizing health services in each region. The Midwest Macro region of Rio Grande do Sul is an example of a region that has been working on the elaboration of a PRI, coordinated by the 4th and 10th Regional Health Coordination. The collective construction of the PRI is essential to ensure community participation and the success of public health policies. In this context, it is important to highlight the importance of the methodology used in the elaboration of the PRI, which must include public consultation, strengthening of health management and continuous monitoring. The active participation of the different actors involved, such as managers, health professionals and users, is essential for identifying local health needs and priorities and for defining priority intervention strategies. This article aims to report the experience of a resident in the analysis, coordination, and elaboration of the document PRI Macrorregião Centro-Oeste do Rio Grande do Sul. This is a descriptive, qualitative study, of the experience report type, based on the daily work carried out and on the construction of strategies to produce an institutional document, based on the planning and management stages. As potentialities, it can be highlighted the collective nature of it, as well as the co-responsibility of the various actors involved. Also noteworthy are the aspects of originality of the methodology and work, as it is an authorial and collective construction of the team that conducted the process.
