نبذة مختصرة : Aim: The aim of this in vitro study was to compare the radiopacities of eight different glass ionomer cements using two different techniques. Methods: Fuji IX (GC), Ketac Molar (3M ESPE), Ionofil Plus (Voco), Argion sermet (Voco), Amalgomer CR (Advanced Health Care), Fuji II (GC), Vitremer (3M ESPE) and Fuji IX capsulated (GC) were used in this study. Using stainless steel molds, three disc shaped specimens (15+/-1 mm diameter X 1,0+/-0,1 mm height) for each material were prepared. Study was carried out according to the ISO Standard 9917-1:2003 (E) for glass poly alkeonate cements at room temperature (23;plusmn;1oC) and at a relative humidity of (;plusmn;10). A 99% pure aluminum step wedge with ten 0.5mm incremental steps between 0.5 mm and 5 mm was placed on upper part of the oclusal film. Three radiographs were taken and developed in an automatic film developer. Three measurements at different locations were performed for each test material. Mean gray value (MGV) and optical densities (ODU) were measured for all of the glass ionomer cements. Results: Mean Gray Value of Fuji IX was the highest with respect to that of the other glass ionomer cements and this was followed by Fuji IX capsulated, Ketac Molar, Vitremer, Ionofil Plus, Argion sermet, Fuji II and Amalgomer CR respectively. Optic density of Amalgomer CR was the highest and Fuji II , Ionofil Plus , Argion Sermet ve Vitremer, Ketac Molar, Fuji IX capsulated and Fuji IX were ranked respectively. Conclusion: Radiopacities of the glass ionomer cements tested in this study were complying with the ISO 9917-1:2003 (E) standard and there was a difference between the findings obtained by two radiopacity measurement techniques. ; Amaç: Bu in vitro çalışmanın amacı sekiz farklı restoratif cam iyonomer simanın radyoopasitelerinin iki farklı yöntemle karşılaştırılmasıdır.
