Los estilos de aprendizaje del estudiantado de Técnicos de nivel superior en Enfermería y la utilidad en didáctica docente

The objective of this paper is to identify the learning styles of first-year students of the higher-level Nursing Technicians career in order to discuss their importance and usefulness in the didactic dimension of personal teaching practice. The authors carried out a statistical analysis with a trend of the variables, this through a quantitative orientation and observational, descriptive, cross-sectional scope, carried out with a sample of 72 students from three successive cohorts (2017 to 2019) and through the application of the V.A.K. (visual, auditory, kinesthetic). The results show the predominance in the learning styles of the different cohorts. Moreover, the discussions revolve around the need and usefulness of knowing learning styles and how this evidence allows to optimize the teaching and learning processes. It is concluded that each cohort has a more predominant learning style; for example, in 2017 and 2018 the visual style stood out, but in 2019 the kinesthetic was predominant. The latter is related to the career profile. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers know the student’s learning style in order to use active methodologies in the classroom and achieve user satisfaction, as well as better academic performance. El objetivo del presente estudio es identificar los estilos de aprendizaje del estudiantado de primer año de la carrera de Técnicos de nivel superior en Enfermería, con el propósito de discutir su importancia y utilidad en la dimensión didáctica de la práctica del personal docente. Con una orientación cuantitativa y alcance observacional, descriptivo, transversal, realizado con una muestra de 72 estudiantado de tres cohortes sucesivas (2017 al 2019) y mediante la aplicación del instrumento V.A.K. (visual, auditivo, kinestésico), se realizó un análisis estadístico con tendencia de las variables. Los resultados permiten observar las predominancias en los estilos de aprendizaje de las diferentes cohortes. Las discusiones giran en torno a la necesidad y utilidad que brinda conocer los estilos de aprendizaje y de qué forma esta evidencia permite optimizar los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje. Se concluye que cada cohorte tiene un estilo de aprendizaje más predominante, para 2017 y 2018 corresponde a visual, y 2019 a kinestésico; esta última kinestésico está correlacionada al perfil de la carrera. Se recomienda que el profesorado conozca el estilo de aprendizaje del estudiantado para utilizar metodologías activas en aula para lograr así satisfacción usuaria y mejor rendimiento académico.
