For this, we choose a theoretical reference that shows the evelopment of the Calculus and its teaching, we also bring a state of the art about the works that had as research object the reprobation in Calculus and finally a survey of researches that investigated Leveling Courses in Mathematics so we could either raise or refute hypotheses. For the course methodology, we choose a predominantly qualitative approach, but using quantitative aspects, we did a case study with the leveling and discipline of Calculus I offered in the first half of 2017. Our methodology was divide into three stages: in the first stage, we searched the students??? conceptions about leveling during the course. In the second stage, we did a quantitative analysis of approval and reprobation in Calculus I during the period studied and finally we used as instrument two electronic questionnaires to bring up the conception of students and teachers about the Course of Calculation I and Leveling after completion of both. As results, we present eight contributions of the leveling indicated by the students a priori, in the first stage,the high failure rates in the discipline of Calculus I and how the students who participated assiduously in the leveling can obtain a better performance in the discipline, we finally highlight the conceptions of the students and teachers at the end of the course leveling the discipline of Calculation, it being possible to perceived that the greatest difficulty in Calculation I identified in the answers of both it is the lack of mathematical basis and that the methodology adopted by the teacher directly influences the success of the student??s in the discipline of Calculation I, in relation to leveling this contributes significantly to vercoming the problem of lack of base and that its contribution extends the integration of the student to the academic environment and also motivates and stimulates the student to study mathematics. Esta disserta????o tem como objetivo investigar as contribui????es do curso de Nivelamento em Matem??tica ofertado pelo Departamento de Matem??tica da UFAM na supera????o do problema da reprova????o em C??lculo no que se refere aos motivos geradores de dificuldades no processo de ensino e aprendizagem da disciplina de C??lculo. Para isto, optamos por um referencial te??rico que mostra o desenvolvimento do C??lculo e seu ensino, trazemos ainda um estado da arte sobre os trabalhos que tiveram como objeto de pesquisa a reprova????o em C??lculo e por fim um levantamento de pesquisas que investigaram Cursos de Nivelamento em Matem??tica para que pud??ssemos levantar ou refutar hip??teses. Para o percurso metodol??gico optamos por uma abordagem predominantemente qualitativa, mas fazendo uso de aspectos quantitativos, fizemos um estudo de caso envolvendo o nivelamento e a disciplina de C??lculo I ofertados no primeiro semestre de 2017. Nossa metodologia foi dividida em tr??s momentos: no primeiro, buscamos as concep????es referente ??s expectativas dos alunos em rela????o ao nivelamento, no segundo fazemos uma an??lise quantitativa dos n??meros de aprova????o e reprova????o em C??lculo I no per??odo pesquisado e por fim, no ??ltimo momento evidenciamos a real rela????o entre o nivelamento e a disciplina de C??lculo I sob a vis??o de alunos e professores, utilizamos para isso, como instrumento dois question??rios eletr??nicos para trazer ?? tona as concep????es de alunos e professores a respeito da disciplina de C??lculo I e do Nivelamento ap??s a conclus??o de ambos. Como resultados, apresentamos 8 contribui????es do nivelamento apontadas pelos alunos a priori no primeiro momento de nossa pesquisa, os ??ndices alto de reprova????o na disciplina de C??lculo I e como os alunos que participam assiduamente do Nivelamento conseguem obter um melhor rendimento na disciplina. E por fim destacamos as concep????es dos alunos e professores ao fim de todo o percurso nivelamento e disciplina de C??lculo, sendo poss??vel perceber que a maior dificuldade em C??lculo I identificada nas respostas de ambos ?? a falta de base Matem??tica e que a metodologia adotada pelo professor influencia diretamente para o sucesso do aluno na disciplina de C??lculo. Em rela????o ao Nivelamento este contribui significativamente para a supera????o do problema da falta de base e que sua contribui????o se estende a integra????o do aluno ao ambiente acad??mico e tamb??m motiva e estimula o aluno para o estudo da matem??tica.
