Analysis of the Employment in the Tourism Field of Japanese Graduates from Tourism Education —Do Tourism Enterprises Employ Graduates for the Reason that they have Studied Tourism Education?

A disproportionate relationship exists between the number of students studying tourism in university tourism education and the number who became employed in tourism enterprises after graduation. The ratio of those who were employed in the tourism industry was reported as low as 16.2% in 2011, though the enrollment in university tourism education in Japan has increased and reached 4,928 students in 2016. This paper is intended to report analysis of the fact that the more tourism enterprises are aware of university tourism education, the more they employed and tend to be willing to employ graduates from university tourism education."
