Thoti’s Son (Thottiyin Magan) is a 1946 Malayalam Novel and it was translated by Sundara Ramasamy in 1958. This is a brilliant translation work of Sundara Ramaswamy about the lives of scavenger community. The job of a scavenger is a crucial. Once if they stop working even for one day the civilized world would start stinking up. Literally, our story focuses on the slum full of such scavengers their lives with extraordinary challenges and how the established system exploiting them and keeping them from advanced life. Sudalai Muthu, son of Esakki Muthu lives long as a scavenger just like his father in the same corporation waste yard. Finally, he loses his dreams into a failure and feels a perished life.
