Vincent described the concept of selfitis in adobo chronicles, the parody and joke site as follows; “the disorder is called selfitis, and is defined as the obsessive compulsive desire to take photos of one’s self and post them on social media as a way to make up for the lack of self-esteem and to fill a gap in intimacy.” Selfitis has borderline, acute, and chronic aspects. Later, Balakrishnan and Griffiths conducted an academic research on the concept of selfitis. They also found that the concept of selfitis, like Vincent, has borderline, acute, and chronic aspects. Another essential variable of the study is narcissism. Narcissism is self-centered and selfish. According to the psychoanalytic approach, it is defined as pursuing relationships as a result of prioritizing one's own ego or physical sexuality and excessive concentration on libido. In the current study, religiousness is investigated dimensionally. Religiousness has been studied as dimensions of behavior and worship. Religious behavior contains the person's orientation towards religious behaviors in social and individual life and the reflection of the social, relational, and psychological effects of religious behavior in life. Religious worship includes the person praying, fasting, and reading the Quran in Arabic or Turkish. The behavior of taking a selfie has been discussed in various forms in academic studies in recent years. There are those who risk their lives while taking selfies, take selfies at funeral rites, this is also valid in islamic funeral rites and ceramonies and take selfies to share on social media. This situation attracts the attention of both media, including social media and academic researchers. In the current study, the relationship between selfie-taking behavior, narcissism, and religiosity are discussed. This study aimed to adapt the selfitis scale to Turkish and to investigated the relationships between selfitis, narcissism, and religiousness. The sample size of study consists of 200 university students, 81 (40,5%) males and 119 (59,5%) females, ages ranged from 17 to 42, with mean age of 20,93. Personal information form, selfitis scale, narcissistic admiration and competition scale, and religiousness scale were used to gather data. Hypotheses of the current study; "There is a negative relationship between religiousness and selfitis and narcissism," "there is a negative relationship between religious behavior and religious worship and selfitis and narcissism." religious behavior and religious worship predicts the narcissism variable ”,“ narcissism predicts the selfitis variable ”,“ religiosity, religious behavior, and religious worship, the relationship between narcissism and selfitis also acts as a mediator variable ”have been tested.
