نبذة مختصرة : Taming of the bull (Yeru Thazhuvuthal) is mentioned in Sangam literature as one of the valorous games of the Tamil Youth and part of the ancient Tamil Culture. Yeru Ko’zh and Vidai ko’zh are the other names by which Yeru Thazhuvuthal was mentioned in Tamil literature. The views of the commentator Nacinarkiniyar is also mentioned in this article. Considered as the life style of the people who share the greenish Mullai land. There are seven poems in Mullaik Kali that are discussed in detail to Yeru Thazhuvuthal. Kinds of Bulls, descriptions about them, the act of youth of Mullai land taking a vow to win the Bull in the game to catch the hands of the Mullai damsels, Mullai damsel refusing to marry the Kolletru Kodanjuvan, greeting with kuravai to welcome the winner of the Yeruthazhuval and the parents of the damsels agreeing to give in marriage to the victorious youth of the Yeruthazhuval, the basic characteristics of the poems of Mullai land are vividly mentioned in this research paper. Not only for the sake of taking the hands of the Mullai damsels but also as a distinct life style of the youth of the Mullai land is described in this research article.
