نبذة مختصرة : The main factors affecting the balance of the gastrointestinal microflora and its influence on the normal functions of other organs and systems in the human body were examined. Probiotics are commonly defined as viable microorganisms (bacteria or yeast) which, when ingested, have a beneficial effect on the recipient's health. They are used in foods, especially in fermented dairy products, but also in pharmaceutical preparations. The beneficial effects of probiotic microorganisms on human health, e.g. immune stimulation and prevention of gastrointestinal tract infections, lactose maldigestion, constipation, colonic disorders, some side effects of pelvic radiation and chemotherapy, and more recently, food allergies induced by hypersensitivity to milk and changes associated with colon cancer were established in the course of numerous clinical trials. The influence of the Enterosan probiotics on diseases caused by disbalance of the gastrointestinal microflora was demonstrated.
