نبذة مختصرة : Background: adult patient undergoing elective surgery are experienced anxiety and fear before surgery which has been increased during Covid 19 and may be affected them both physical and psychological. So, the aim of the study was to assess the preoperative anxiety level and fear of Covid 19 among adult patients undergoing elective surgery. Design: A descriptive research design. Setting: The study was conducted at surgical adult wards at Beni-Suef University Hospital. Sample: - A total of 220 adult patients aged from 21-60 years. Tools: Data were collected using three tools including: A structured interview questionnaire, fear of COVID-19 Scale (FCV-19S), and Corona Disease Anxiety Scale (CDAS). Results: Adult patients' age ranged from 20 - 53 years, it was observed that majority of adult patients had severe anxiety score and high Mean scores and standard deviations of fear 29.60 ± 5.11.
