      O artigo apresenta uma pesquisa sobre representacoes sociais da danca no contexto da Educacao Fisica Escolar (EFE). A pesquisa foi realizada em duas escolas da rede publica municipal e duas da rede particular de ensino de Ponta Grossa – PR. A observacao e o questionario foram os instrumentos utilizados na coleta dos dados. Participaram da pesquisa cinco professores de Educacao Fisica e 331 alunos do Ensino Fundamental (5o ano do Ensino Fundamental). Os resultados indicam que as representacoes sociais dos professores de danca estao relacionadas as festas e datas comemorativas da escola e dos alunos, ao prazer e a preferencia musical. A danca na escola tem espaco para elaboracoes coreograficas, ensaios de festa junina e apresentacoes escolares. Palavras-chave: Danca. Educacao Fisica. Escola. Abstract Primary Education students and their representations of teachers This paper presents a survey of social representations of dance in the context of School Physical Education. The survey was conducted in two city schools and two private schools in Ponta Grossa, Parana, Brazil. The observation and the questionnaire were the instruments used to collect data. Five teachers of Physical Education and 331 students of Primary Education (5 th year of Primary Education) took part in the research. The results indicate that the social representations of dance teachers are related to holidays and anniversaries of the school and students, to pleasure and to musical preference. The practice of dance in the school has room for choreographic creations, June Festival rehearsals, and school presentations. Keywords: Dance. Physical Education. School.
