نبذة مختصرة : In this article, the authors discuss the relationship between evidence-based supported employment (EBSE) and the current recovery philosophy. Although the development of EBSE occurred outside of the consumer-defined recovery philosophy, the interdependence of the practice and philosophy is elaborated upon. An example of one mental health agency's experience with the implementation and on-going development of EBSE services within a recovery environment is provided. Issues discussed include the practitioners' paradigm shift in providing service and the need for funding streams supporting evidence-based, recovery-oriented employment services.
