Prediction of marital disaffection of women based on their sexual attitudes and their husbands' tendency toward dark personality

Aim: This study purpose was to determine relationship between the marital disaffection of women based on their sexual attitude and their husbands’ tendency to dark personality. Method: The research method was descriptive-correlational type and the statistical population of the study included couples of 8 district of Tehran in 2017 with the quantity of 2911065 family, which through them 160 couple based on Green’s 1991 formula (numbers of variables * 8 + 50) and given the likelihood of sample volume loss were determined and selected by two-phase random sampling. In the first stage 2 and 3 regions of 8 district and in the second stage, 4 streets and 2 parks and gardens randomly and finally volunteer couples were selected. The study tools were couple burnout measure by Pines 2004; the measure of the dark triad by Jonason & Webster (2010) and sexual attitude questionnaire by Azgoli, Tork zahrani, Vallaee & Khoshabi (2000). After omitting 4 distorted questionnaire and 2 data of outlier participant, the data were analyzed using hierarchical regression analysis. Results: The results showed that the regression coefficient of marital disaffection of women with psychopathy (β= 0.192, P= 0.001) and Machiavelli (β= 0.299, P= 0.001) of their husband were positive and with regression coefficient of their own sexual attitude (β= 0.291, P= 0.001) were negative. Conclusion: Considering the importance of couples' quality of life in family cohesion and the determining role of sexual attitude and personality traits in predicting marital disaffection, it is necessary that to be conduct courses and workshops to inform couples about their sexual knowledge and sexual attitude and to develop and cultivate desirable personality traits in couples.
