Because the night : An archaeology of the image of modern phantasmagoria

By assuming a close relationship between night and ghost apparitions, this essay aims to produce an archaeological survey of how, through the dialogue between the invention of an architecture of light and the creation of a surrealist photographic language, the image of the modern buildings have been associated with the characters of the ghost, and this association has been used to uncover and critique the hidden workings of certain aspects of the experience of modern living.
