نبذة مختصرة : A síndrome de burnout consiste num fenómeno multidimensional, já que se caracteriza pela exaustão emocional, despersonalização e reduzida realização pessoal, designando um estado de fadiga física e emocional crónico, sobretudo em profissões de ajuda, tornando-se pertinente estudar a síndrome de burnout em Cuidadores Formais de idosos, no sentido em que são considerados um grupo de risco. O estudo desenvolvido no âmbito desta tese consiste num estudo de caso que teve como objetivo determinar, num grupo de dez ajudantes de ação direta de uma Instituição Particular de Solidariedade Social, o Centro Social e Paroquial de Nossa Senhora da Vitória, de que modo os Cuidadores Formais da resposta social de Serviço de Apoio Domiciliário, por um lado, e os Cuidadores Formais das valências de Estrutura Residencial para Idosos e Centro de Dia, por outro, são afetados pela síndrome de burnout. Os instrumentos de recolha de dados aplicados para o efeito foram o Maslach Burnout Inventory –Human Services Survey e a entrevista semi-estruturada, que permitiram avaliar e comparar a prevalência de burnout na população-alvo. De acordo com os resultados obtidos, concluiu-se que o grupo de Cuidadores Formais das valências de Estrutura Residencial para Idosos e Centro de Dia do Centro Social e Paroquial de Nossa Senhora da Vitória apresenta maiores níveis de burnout que o grupo de Cuidadores Formais da resposta social de Serviço de Apoio Domiciliário, fruto da diferente estrutura e funcionamento do local de trabalho de ambas as respostas sociais.
نبذة مختصرة : The burnout syndrome consists of a multidimensional phenomenon, since it is characterized by emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and reduced personal fulfillment, designating a state of chronic physical and emotional fatigue, especially in helping professions, making it pertinent to study burnout syndrome in Caregivers Formalities of the elderly, in the sense that they are considered a risk group. The study developed in the framework of this thesis consists of a case study whose objective was to determine the Social and Parish Center of Our Lady of Victory in a group of ten direct action helpers of a Private Institution of Social Solidarity, in which way the Caregivers Formal form of the social response of the Home Support Service, on the one hand, and the Formal Caregivers of the Values of Residential Structure for the Elderly and Day Center, on the other, are affected by the burnout syndrome. The data collection instruments used for this purpose were the Maslach Burnout Inventory - Human Services Survey and the semi-structured interview, which allowed the evaluation and comparison of the prevalence of burnout in the target population. According to the results, it was concluded that the group of Formal Caregivers of the Residential Structure for the Elderly and the Day Center of the Social and Parish Center of Our Lady of Victory presented higher levels of burnout than the group of Formal Caregivers social service of Domiciliary Support Service, due to the different structure and functioning of the workplace of both social responses.
