In this article the author discusses challenges concerning successful drug delivery. Topics include problems faced by patients and drug delivery device designers due to highly viscous injectable macromolecule drugs, factors to be considered for spring-powered autoinjection of drugs, and Bernoulli equations for understanding working of large-volume injectors and needle-free devices. A graph depicting viscous formulation delivery by needle-free injector is also presented.
