      Gregory Schraw and Lori Olafson have produced an exemplary study within a mainstream paradigm.They have ably summarized the corpus of extant data on teachers' epistemological world views, employing mainstream methods to suggest relationships between the teachers' world views and the teachers' reports of their educational practices. They illustrate the power and coherence of these belief systems, showing how beliefs about specific things differ according to one's epistemological stance. Given this, one would expect teachers' epistemological world views to play a strong role in determining their classroom practices.
