The article presents discussion of several forms of social or psychological death which people can experience throughout their lives. Introductory comments are offered criticizing the attitude that physical death is the only kind to impact individuals. Several other forms of death are proposed along with case examples, including spiritual death through loss of faith, death-of-love through negative relationships, and philosophical death, where a person gives up on the meaning of life.
