The article examines the use of mobile communication systems in employee training in the energy industries of Qatar. Development of a mobile device application by researchers at Qatar University and Athabasca University of Canada and its testing by the company Qatar Petroleum are discussed. The use of the application by employees to access technical English language terms used in the energy industries is considered.
