      The article presents the adoption of an airworthiness directive (AD) by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for all the Model 717-200 airplanes from the Boeing Co. It cites the need for the airplanes to undergo repetitive inspections for cracking in the overwing frames as well as corrective actions. It also notes the goal of the AD to detect and correct cracking which could result in a severed frame of the airplanes and might increase the loading of adjacent frames.
