Acute liver failure: Redefining the syndromes.

Proposes a new terminology of definitions of clinical syndromes in acute liver failure. Hyperacute liver failure as a term for cases in which encephalopathy occurs within seven days of the onset of jaundice; Acute liver failure as a term for cases with an interval of between eight to twenty eight days; Subacute liver failure as a term to describe cases that occurs within five to twelve weeks of the onset of jaundice.
