Development of Teachers' Ethical Values Scale According to Student Perception: A Study of Validity and Reliability. (English)

Aim of this study is to develop a valid and reliable scale that measure teachers' ethical values according to students perceptions. The sampling of the research consisted of 617 students attending the elemantary schools 4, 5, 6 and 7th grades in the city of Artvin Center county in academic year of 2010-2011. In order to determine structural validity of scale, explanatory factor analysis procedure is applied by Varimax with Kaiser Normalization. Also, in order to determine criteria validity of Teachers' Ethical Values Scale According to Student Perception, Adjective Check List (ACL) test is applied. For calculation of scale reliability Cronbach-alpha internal coherence coefficient and test-retest calculations were made. After the explanatory and corroborant factor analysis, the scale consisted of 30 items and two dimentions. Internal coherence coefficient of the scale is .95 and test-retest correlation coefficient is .88. These values could be considered as an indication that this scale can perform a valid and reliable measurement of teachers' ethical values. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Bu araştırmanın amacı, öğrencilerin algısına göre öğretmenlerin etik değerlerini ölçen, geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı geliştirmektir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, 2010-2011 öğretim yılında Artvin Merkez ilçesinde bulunan 6 ilköğretim okulunun 4, 5, 6, 7 ve 8. sınıflarına devam eden 617 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Ölçeğin yapı geçerliliğini belirlemek için Kaiser Normalleştirmesiyle Varimax dik döndürme tekniği (Varimax with Kaiser Normalization) ile açımlayıcı faktör analizi işlemi gerçekleştirilmiştir. Daha sonra doğrulayıcı faktör analizi yapılmıştır. Öğrenci Algısına Göre Öğretmen Etik Değerler Ölçeği’nin kriter geçerliğinin belirlenmesi için Sıfat Listesi (Adjective Check List) (ACL) testinin de uygulaması yapılmıştır. Ölçeğin güvenirlik hesaplamaları için Cronbach-alpha iç tutarlık katsayısı ve test-tekrar test hesaplamaları yapılmıştır. Açımlayıcı ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizi sonucunda 30 maddeden ve iki boyuttan oluşan bir ölçek elde edilmiştir. Ölçeğin iç tutarlılık katsayısı .95, test tekrar test korelasyon katsayısı .88 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Bu değerler, ölçeğin öğretmenlerin etik değerlerini ölçmede geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçüm yapabileceğinin kanıtı olarak kabul edilebilir. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
