Google vs. the Library: Student Preferences and Perceptions When Doing Research Using Google and a Federated Search Tool.

The article discusses the study of preferences and perceptions of the undergraduate student on Google and a federated search tool when doing research. Preference of search tool of the student is based on the speed, efficiency, and results shown by it. The study found the result that the student actually prefers the federated search tool for doing research. Libraries should offer federated search and focus on teaching students how to use both search tools more effectively is also suggested.
