      The article focuses on understanding the way school textbooks refer to the human’s position in nature by analysing three textbook topics on environmental education includinge ecosystems, pollution and use of resource. It also informs that textbooks present mainly an ecocentric aspect and the aesthetic, ethical and cultural aspects are limited and inadequate limiting the full perspective of education for sustainable development.
