The forward march of culture.

An essay is presented on art and British society in the early 21st century. The author argues that the British are more comfortable identifying themselves by their cultural likes as opposed to social class. The author discusses culture and class in Great Britain in the 20th century and the differences between the working class and the middle class, and attempts to analyze the alleged growth of the middle class as more inclusive with an emphasis on cultural similarities.
