Parents' Perspectives on the Consent Approach for Minimal-Risk Research Involving Children.

The article reports on research which was conducted to investigate parents' perspectives about the consent approach, written or verbal, which is used with minimal risk research which involves their children. Researchers evaluated the parents or guardians of 161 children. They found that parents who were presented with a verbal consent approach were more likely to enroll their children in a research study than those who were presented with a written consent approach.
