The article discusses the reorganization and restructuring of U.S. industrial corporations that came about as a result of the depression of 1920-1921, by comparing common fundamental difficulties and attempts at solution. The article differentiates between constructive, manipulative, and curative reorganizations, focusing this article on curative reorganizations. Curative reorganizations come about in an effort to fix problems in light of an immediate or impending financial embarrassment. The article discusses the causes of reorganization (voluntary and forced), principal features of reorganization plans, financial remedies, and provisions for the future. The article concludes that different corporate problems require original solutions, although they share common features.
